Cello Hero

A few days ago I stumbled upon a curious game featured in the Berliner Philarmoniker website.

It’s called, Cello Challenge, and it has sort of a Guitar Hero game mechanic, in the sense that the players have to play the right tones, leading the bow with the mouse, in order to score points. If they don´t, trust me, they’ll hear it.

I think that this is a good example of games becoming more main stream, and being used as online promotions by sectors which one usually wouldn’t think of using advergames to create awareness. But I consider that this shows, that by tapping these “new” forms of advertising, more traditional industries/companies, can take advantage of the success and popularity of games like Guitar Hero. And this enables them to engage a new audience, that otherwise would be hard to reach. So…game on!
