Twitter’s end

Twitter may not be long for this world unless the free social networking and micro-blogging site can find more revenue.

According to Dan Farber’s “Outside the Lines” blog, Twitter is running short of funds and its service has recently become erratic.”Twitter will become a sustainable business supported by a revenue model,” stated co-founder Biz Stone in a recent blog posting, adding that about USD15m in private funding is pending.

“To reach our goal, Twitter must be reliable and robust,” Stone added. “Private funding gives us the runway we need to stay focused on the infrastructure that will help our business take flight.”
