AdMeld, an online ad startup founded by former JumpTV staff, has raised USD5m of a USD6m round, says peHUB. Backers include Foundry Group and Spark Capital.

Based in New York, AdMeld is still in stealth mode and has yet to launch a product. The company says it plans to help clients optimise their online advertising strategy by blending “advertising operations and agile software development”. Its founders include president Ben Barokas and CTO Brian Adams, both previously at online video startup JumpTV, which recently merged with IPTV provider NeuLion.

Global revenues from interactive advertising – which includes classified, search and display ads – could reach USD147bn in 2012, up from USD45bn last year, according to The Kelsey Group.
