Level 3 sells ad distribution unit for USD129m

Level3 Communications has sold the ad distribution unit of its video-broadcasting subsidiary, Vyvx, to rival DG FastChannel for USD129m. Vyvx ad business includes distribution, post-production and customer service operations.

Level3 has kept the Vyvx brand and its core broadcast business, including all of the content distribution capabilities. Following the transaction DG FastChannel has acquired Vyvx’s 110 full-time employees, regional operating offices in New York, Chicago, Delaware, Memphis and Los Angeles, as well as a network operations centre in Oklahoma.

Texas-based DG FastChannel develops satellite and internet transmission technologies for advertisers and marketing agencies. The firm recently merged with marketing technology firm Enliven in a stock-for-stock deal valued at USD98m.

Based in Colorado, Level3 provides video, data and voice telecommunication services to content providers, advertisers and telcos.
