Qtrax signs indie music licencing deal

P2P music service Qtrax has signed a digital licencing agreement with German distributor Kontor New Media.

Kontor, which specialises in independent music performers, already provides content to iTunes, Napster, FNAC, Beatport, Nokia Music Services, musicload and AOL. The deal’s terms weren’t disclosed.

Qtrax, developed and distributed by LTDnetwork, first launched in 2002 but closed after a few months due to legal concerns. The company has struck several deals with major content providers in recent months, including agreements with Universal Music, EMI Music Publishing, TVT Records and Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
