Global IPTV subscribers to increase by more than 500% by 2010

Subscribers to Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) will reach 60m worldwide by 2010, from around 9.9m at the end of 2007, says Telecommunications Management Group (TMG).

IPTV users have doubled every year since the service launched in 2007, and TMG projects the number to grow by more than 500% over the next three years.

“IPTV is revolutionizing the television market by introducing greater competition and providing consumers with a plethora of customisable content, viewable any time,” says TMG senior market analyst Michael Minges.
