CNBC looks to grow Web video subscriptions

US financial news broadcaster CNBC is looking towards Russia among other countries in a push to drive subscriptions for its premium CNBS Plus web video product, says the UKPC website.

The offering, which debuted 15 months ago, supplies streams of CNBC US, Europe and Asia TV channels, as well as archived video interviews, for USD9.99 per month or USD99 per year.

The service has so far attracted only 15,000 subscribers. CNBC is also said to be planning to supplement its recent video syndication deals with Yahoo Finance and The New York Times by signing its first deals with European partners.
