YouTube accounts for the majority of US visits to video-sharing sites, reveals Hitwise. The research firm found that YouTube alone received 53.9% of all visits to video destinations in the US.

Runner-up MySpaceTV obtained only 7.68% of visits, nearly two-times as much as third-ranking Apple’s iTunes (3.39%). Another Google-property, Google Video, ranked fourth with a 3.13% market share, followed by Yahoo! Video Streaming with 2.06%. imeem, MSN Video and Break.com also featured in the top 10. The study was carried out on a sample of 10m US internet users.
