YouTube launches analytics tools for video creators

YouTube is releasing a set of statistics tools that let users measure the popularity and diffusion of their videos. YouTube Insight provides video creators with information on the region where their clips are most viewed and how popular these are compared to all videos in the region.

The Google-owned site claims the new functionality will enable partner content providers to tailor their offerings, while letting advertisers better target their audience.

“Insight turns YouTube into one of the world’s largest focus groups,” says YouTube product manager, Tracy Chan. Insight is available today (Mar 27) to registered YouTube users, by clicking on the My Account button on the video-sharing-site. The tool currently features a graph with a video’s view-trend and a map showing the country or US state in which the video is most popular.
