Mothersportal getChinese online mothers pos USD17.1m funding

Chinese onlinecommunity for mothers (BabyCare) is receiving USD17.1m in Series C funding. Foundation Capital and NSA Investments were new participants in the round, joining existing investors Chengwei Ventures and Sutter Hill Ventures.

No information was given as to how the funding will be spent.

The company has raised a total of USD26.1m since 1999. The site focuses on providing information and support for pregnant and nursing mothers and offers Chinese-language only services equivalent to western sites such as CafeMom, allowing mothers to post pictures of themselves and babies, participate in polls and community events, and find relevant childrenâs products.
